What Ray says about this piece:

The first time I went to Spain as a child I was in awe of tapas. Free snacks that were put on the table and all my parents did was order a round of drinks. This concept blew my mind!

In Ireland, the simple act of ordering a drink is not be rewarded with food. No, you have to pay for fine Irish pub cuisine. In the 1990’s the only food you could order in a pub came in a bag. Said bags were called Taytos, but every so often we would venture further afield and we might has well have been in Spain if they had ‘Bacon Fries’.

These small packet of deliciousness would be ripped up, shared and gone in less than ten seconds. These were my tapas 😜😂
